WARP Help

General

WARP reports allow you to directly interrogate live data held on the Research Management Data Base (RMDB). WARP Reports have been designed with user needs in mind, however if you have a suggestion for modifying a report or ideas for a new one, please let us know via email.

If you have registered for access for levels two, three or four, your user name is always your staff ID. Your initial password is sent via email on registration, and can be changed in the personal preferences section.

Key Word Search

The Key Word Search allows you to find individuals based on their research activity. Users enter a word and start the search. WARP returns a list of names that have research activity matching your search word. The names are displayed in descending order based on the number of 'hits'

To assist the user in determining the success of their search, the number of 'hits' are displayed. In determining a 'hit' the system matches the search word to the words associated with the RFCD code that the researcher has nominated for each of their research activities and output.

The search can be performed by matching any of the words in the search criteria (default), or the user can nominate to search for all words in the criteria to narrow down their search. For example searching on the words 'Special Education' in the default mode would match activity to over 30 RFCD codes. By setting the option to search for all words, the results would be limited to matches against only two RFCD codes.

Honorary Research Associates are flagged in the Hon column but a circle. Clicking on the name will run the Individuals Report for the nominated person.

Individuals Report

The User selects a researcher by typing in a surname - a list of people with that surname are displayed and the user chooses the one required. Alternatively, the person selected from the Key Word Search is used.

All records where the selected researcher is named as a chief investigator, supervisor or author are listed (except for grant or consultancy records that have a confidentiality agreement associated with them). Publications for the previous year are only available after 1 July.
